Privacy Policy
Best Password Generator is built to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what that means in practice.
Last updated: 2 June 2026.
The short version
- There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for.
- The password generator and the analyser run entirely in your browser. The passwords and text you enter are never transmitted to us, logged, or stored on our servers.
- The only personal data we receive is what you choose to send us — for example by email or through the contact form.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising or profiling trackers.
Who we are
"Best Password Generator", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of the website at bestpasswordgenerator.net. For any privacy question, contact [email protected].
The tools run on your device
The generator and analyser are client-side tools. They use your browser's Web Crypto API to create and assess passwords locally. Whatever you generate, type, or paste into these tools never leaves your device — it is not sent over the network, not written to any database we control, and not visible to us. If you close the tab, that content is gone.
Information we collect
1. Information you send us voluntarily
If you email us or submit the contact form, we receive the information you include — typically your name, email address, and the content of your message. We use it only to read and respond to your enquiry. Please do not send real passwords or other sensitive data in your message.
2. Server logs
Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information when a page is requested — such as your IP address, browser type and user agent, the page requested, and the date and time. These logs are generated by the host for security, troubleshooting, and reliability, and are typically retained for a limited period. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
3. Browser storage (localStorage)
The site may use your browser's localStorage to remember interface preferences — for example your last-used generator settings — so the tools feel consistent between visits. This stays in your browser, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Third-party services
Google Fonts
We load web fonts from Google Fonts to display the site. When your browser requests these fonts, your IP address is shared with Google as a normal part of serving the files, and Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's own privacy policy. We do not control or receive that data.
Hosting
Our website is served by a third-party hosting provider, which processes requests (and the server logs described above) on our behalf.
Cookies and tracking
We use minimal or no cookies and run no advertising or cross-site tracking. Any browser storage we use is limited to remembering interface preferences as described above. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy.
How we use information
- To respond to messages and enquiries you send us.
- To keep the site secure and working (via standard host logs).
- To remember your interface preferences in your own browser.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, data-protection laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR) may give you rights over any personal data we hold about you, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate data;
- Request deletion of your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Request portability of data you provided.
Because we hold little more than the messages you send us, exercising these rights is usually straightforward — email [email protected] and we will respond. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
